Wireless specialist Wi-LAN Inc. is suing 22 major companies over alleged patent infringement. The companies include chip suppliers, equipment vendors and electronics retailers.
They include Acer Inc., Apple Inc., Best Buy Co. Inc., Circuit City Stores Inc., Dell Inc., D-Link Corp., Gateway Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Co.
Wi-LAN claims the companies have infringed and continue to infringe on three of its patent numbers by making and selling various products, including wireless routers, modems and personal notebook computers that use them.
