Gadget: Galaxy, my next watch

Housed in a sleek, newly designed polished IP silver case and finished with a custom linked, brushed silver strap with polished detail, this design offers you the chance to wear a fashion statement, unlikely to be seen anywhere else on the planet.

The cryptic looking display is deceptively easy to read; one touch of the upper button initiates a programmed animation of light, and then presents the time. Twelve yellow bars represent hours in a clock wise direction, eleven red bars represent groups of five minutes and four green bars show single minutes. Pressing the lower button presents the time immediately. No ordinary design, Galaxy has a modern look with futuristic style. (link)

Another reason to hate that guy with the iPhone

Know someone who loves gadgets and can’t wait to buy the newest model? Chances are you would describe them as assertive and a strong leader — and possibly arrogant, according a U.S. research.

An online study evaluating the characteristics of 25,000 American adults found avid technology consumers tended to score highly in personality traits such as leadership, dynamism and assertiveness — but low in modesty.

“A lot of previous research points to wealthy young males as early adopters of technology,” said Sarah Welch, lead researcher at Internet ad network firm Mindset Media that conducted the study in partnership with Nielsen Online.

“But this study tells us that there are characteristics beyond age and gender and income that are also extremely highly correlated with tech consumption,” she added.

The study looked at 20 personality traits or “mindsets” including openness, creativity, self esteem and spontaneity. (link)

Maybe you’re a spy or you’ve got schematics for the next hot gadget locked away on your hard drive, but either way you’re going to want to lock your files down. That’s where the DataLocker Drive Enclosure comes in.

The DataLocker is an enclosure so you’ll have to supply your own 2.5″ SATA hard drive, which is the standard size drive for laptops. After that, you create a 6-digit passcode that you punch in on the unit’s backlit touchscreen. Tap it again to lock that sensitive info down. It’s powered and enabled by your USB port. Plug it in, put in your code and access your data. (dvice)
