Facebook users to fuel advertising engine

Can we say we didn’t see this coming? Google makes tons of money from advertising and of course Facebook has a captive audience and could always use more money. Free things are just too good to last. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and chief executive of Facebook, today announced “social ads.”
The ads will pop up everywhere. When members want to see what their friends are doing, AD. Clicking on photos from their parties or friends, AD. The Facebook experience is going to become a cash cow for Zuckerberg while slowly annoying their users.

Facebook now will give advertisers the ability to create their own profile pages on its system that will let users identify themselves as fans of a product. Each user’s news feed will contain items like “Bobby Smith is now a fan of Toyota Prius.” (link)
