Fastest hard drive yet, Western Digital VelociRaptor

Slow hard drive? Check this out. 3GB/s max, 10,000 rpm. A 2.5″ SATA drive wrapped in a heatsink to fit 3.5″ bay. Currently the only option is a 300GB drive. Western Digital I can’t help but think that the heat generated from a little drive case might be too much regardless of how big the heat sink is. Are we going to see the day when every component in a computer has it’s own fan? First it was the desktop case, then CPU to get it’s own fan, then the PCI-E video card. How far behind are hard drives?
