I know what you’re thinking. WHY? Just get the real thing! Well for one the data plan is a big barrier for the average user. Up here in Canada the minimum iPhone plan will run you $60/month on top of the 3 year contract and the purchase of the phone itself ($199). So if you could buy a fake at a fraction of the cost ($99USD from eBay) and avoid the whole data plan wouldn’t you at least investigate it?
So here it is: the SciPhone i9++ unlocked GSM quadband (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz) 3.2″ touch screen mp3 video java bluetooth gprs fm radio 1.3mp camera video recording.
Marketed as i9+ or i68+ or 3G i9++ (no 3G functionality). There are many sellers on eBay. Judging by the box, you think you’re buying a real iPhone (but of course you’d be wrong). Probably not a good idea to buy one of these if you’re vacationing in China. Don’t get fooled by those shady street vendors. Even the box shows “AT&T” in the picture and Safari as the browser, just looks good to me.
Open up the box and still looks good so far. The packaging is nicely sealed and indeed it does look like an actual phone and not a brick inside. Looks like everything is here. 2 batteries (3.7v, 1000mAH, lithium ion), charger, USB cable, micro SD adapter, and wired headset. Each neatly wrapped up in their individual plastic bags.
Hey look! It’s actually charging! This is a good sign. Perhaps the phone may even actually make calls. (photo is washed out due to the crappy flash, hey, it’s an old Fujitsu camera, that’s what was available at the office).
The manual was essentially useless. Here’s an exaggerated sampling “SMS: to SMS type an SMS” or perhaps “To make phone call, press phone icon, and type in number”. Forget putting in important details such as setting up your SMS or MMS settings or video file resolution playback, or which folders to put what files in. Instead you’re left to figure that out all on your own.
I’m just going to put a bunch of pictures here. Yes, that does say “Phone” and “16GB” (no it isn’t actually 16GB, supposedly the limit is 8GB).

Inside it has the badging “SciPhone i9++”, quadband, standard serial number and IMEI number. Spot for the micro SD card on the right and 2 SIM slots on the left. Stylus, yes, a stylus. It comes in handy sometimes, but it’s a bit too small for my liking. The tip tends to dig into the “webbing” between my thumb and finger when I hold it. The back plastic piece takes a bit of patience to get off the first time. Because it is so flimsy you don’t want to risk breaking it by being too forceful. It’s not a big deal after you’ve done it a few times (THATS WHAT SHE SAID! *budda-boom!)

The touch functionality is good. The interface is not as quick as the real iPhone. Flow page navigation is easy with the thumb (up to 5 pages I believe, we’ll see after I install all of my java games). Compared to the CECT P168 and the previous SciPhone i9 the screen is better and the camera is better. The P168 is still king when it comes to reception. You will find reception to occassionally jump around with the SciPhone i9++. Call quality is above average. Hey, it’s even got speaker phone.
Bluetooth didn’t seem to work initially. I tried connecting my headset and it didn’t work on the first try. Powered it off and tried again and it detected instantly.
The volume is loud. Make sure you have your thumb on the volume tab when you get that first call. And for God’s sake change the default ringtone! Load that thing up with your mp3s stat!
You can’t change the default screen saver (at least I haven’t figured out how to) but you can switch between the basic ones. When you’ve got the lock screen up, give the phone a shake to the left or right (yes, it supports the shake feature, also during mp3 playback) to switch pictures. I like the stones one myself, something peaceful about those smooth rocks.
Overall it seems like a bargain for $99 USD. Anything more and it’s probably not worth it. I’ve only had it for less than a week but I’m pretty happy with it so far. I’m still trying to set up the GPRS to do some web surfing but that’s not a big deal for me since I’m not spending my time doing Twitter or Facebook updates. The stylus is really handy for texting since my fat fingers often press the wrong letter. Down convertering video files to 3GP is annoying but certainly helps pass the time when you’re sitting at the doctor’s office waiting. Also the video does auto rotate to both sides depending on which way you turn the phone.
Bottom line is: you could do worse. It’s a very good fake iPhone. Even fooled some of my friends after they picked it up and played with it. They found it to be a bit lighter but couldn’t quite figure out why this iPhone was different. Also you need to remember what you’re buying. It’s a iPhone clone, a fake, made in China, most likely from some shady dropshipper. I wouldn’t be surprised if it stopped working after 6 months. Make sure you get the right one. There are many models and believe it or not. There are actually clones of these clones. People making cheaper copies of these phones from left over parts! Probably why you hear horror stories from some people who bought this phone and how it sucks. They probably got a fake SciPhone or fake P168.
*Also don’t buy this phone if you’re big into texting. A touch screen phone is not meant for a great texting experience!

Thanks man Keep up the great posts.
is there anyway to make the texting keyboard bigger?
I believe there is new firmware out which allows you to rotate the phone and display the keyboard in similar fashion to the iPhone. Check the SciPhone official forums.
Hi this blog is great I will be recommending it to friends.
Great article! Very helpful, am waiting for mine by post.
Do Iphone covers fit the i9++?
I found it to be slightly slimmer compared to an actual iPhone. Silicon cases should be fine but the hard plastic cases might not be a good fit. Whenever possible try it on first.
Just bought one of these but cant even switch it on! No instructions – can you please help.
Press and hold the button. Make sure the battery has been charged. Check the Sciphone forum for help.
what site did you buy this phone from?
so i know im buying a good version
thank you.
I bought mine off of eBay. Try to request picture of the packaging. Mine came in a box that looked exactly like the iPhone packaging. Or see if you can get a picture of the back of the phone with the cover and battery out. The SciPhone forum has other ways to tell if it’s legit or not.
what is the official sciphone forum that you’re talking about?

Sorry I thought I had linked to it in my post.
I GOT ONE 3 DAYS AGO AND I’VE HAD TO GO THROUGH HELL TO GET IT REPROGRAMED FOR USE WITH MY CELL PHONE PROVIDER – NOW I REALIZE THAT IT GOES INTO EMERGENCY MODE EVERY MORNING AROUND 9:00 A.M. AND DOESN’T GO BACK INTO REGULAR MODE UNTIL ABOUT 4:45 P.M. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN FIX THIS?? THANKS.
Hi I got my I9++ yesterday and I couldn’t put my Virgin simcard in it for ages and it finally worked. I tried to recieve calls and tried to ring people but they couldn’t hear me and they still can’t because my reception is only on 1-2 bars. I need to know how I can make my reception higher and I need to know how to put my simcard in sim1 (which way do I put it)and how I can put java games/application on the phone? Thanks. Which phone has better reception out of the cect phones and which one is best? Please email me on (email removed). Thanks
I have no experience with other networks outside of Canada so reception issues might simply be a compatibility problem. The other possibility is that you may have a fake on your hands there. If you’re looking for another handset the CECT P168 had great reception for me. Games: there are only a handful of true touch screen java games. Not every java game will work, nor will it run on your SciPhone (something to do with the slow cpu). Currently I’ve got Solitaire, Sudoku, Leisure Suit Larry (yes!) Age of Empires 2, and Orcs and Elves. Everything else that I’ve tried so far has not worked. This includes DS poker, midnight bowling/casino, settlers, Tetris, rainbow six, and devil may cry. Good luck!
I am in Canada (Sudbury, ON) and also having trouble with my reception. The phone worked great in China, and worked once in Hamilton (by Toronto, ON), but doesn’t seem to work up here….any tips?

Settings>Phone Setup> Pen Down Vibration (scroll down and set it to off)
Hi
setting-phone setting-touch vib-off.
In my i9+++ it works
Been searching around for a touch screen phone to gift to my brother in Africa and I was about to buy one the China clones. This review really helped. Now I know what to buy.

Thank you
Hi my friend
My phone is I9++ i want to turn off the vibration,i did ,Settings>Phone Setup, but i didn’t see Pen Down Vibration
Can you hepl me ? thanks so much
You need to scroll down. The Pen Down Vibration option is not on the first page.
I scrolled down, and Misc.settings is last one, but i didn’t see the Pen Down Vibration option,If anyone has this model or knows how to turn if off, please let me know.
Hi Quoc.
—Same thing happened to me…No Menu Item to turn of the Pen Down vibration. Did you find a fix for this?
Greatly appreciate..if you could email.
Thanks,
I have the same problem and could not find a”turn-off”pen down vibration..not only get in my nerves but its a battery eater.I’m afraid I’ve got a bad unit(cant say its a crap cause some other functions are working smoothly).Al
settings, phone setup, scroll down to misc. settings then touch screen vibration settings
i believe you have to go to settings and go to dual sim settings and change to either dual sim open or sim2 open then once its changed go to settings again then phone setup and it should be there
Hi, im planning to buy the i phone clone one of these days. But which is the best clone that you can recomend? Is it same with ciphone?tnx
It’s hard to say. I’ve owned the following: a fake HiPhone (i9,i68), yes a clone of a clone which was an utter piece of crap. CECT P168, very nice phone, great reception. SciPhone (i9++, 3G) which I’m very happy with. I think the real trick is finding which model/phone you are actually getting since there are so many look-a-likes.
just got mine today and i cant call or text anyone. half of the settings are in chinese. how do i change that? i have tried to go into settings and change it to english but still having some applications in different languages.
Contact your seller for help. I really can’t tell you how to navigate using the Chinese menu.
I got a sciphone +9 and I can’t make or get calls or even text. How do I fix it

Quoc,
To turn off vibration, scrolled down until you find Misc.settings is last one. Click Misc Setting, you will find No 1- Touch screen vibration setting. Make sure turn it off.
I hope this will help you.
Dear,
i have sciphone, but i dont know how to use vibration on it.so could u help me please.couse don’t know wich side i should go on it.and i lose many call phone since i got it.
so thats all.
looking forward to get ur answer.
Mido.
So you mentioned the limit is 8 gig, so the standard 2 gig TF Micro SD card it comes with can be replaced with an 8 gig one … thats good
Thanks for the useful article, Colin
Haven’t actually tried an 8GB yet, but I’ve confirmed that a 4GB will work. Everywhere that I have read says that it can take an 8GB memory card.
yes. 8 GB card works in i9+++ sicphone. i am using one.
Can you use the Spectec SDW-823 (microSD WIFI card (802.11b) on the sciphone ?
I was looking into this. Haven’t been able to get my hands on one of these but please let me know if it works.
i want to remove the vibration!!! pls help me. i cnt find it. d misc settings only showed lcd backlight. helP!! it feeds my batteries.
It’s not in MISC settings, it’s under PEN DOWN VIBRATION. Simply turn the feature OFF
When i connect to the computer through the usb it wont let me transfer anything over and says i have no memory but i have the 8GB version!! Please help
Make sure you are selecting the memory card and not the built in memory on the phone when transferring data. You should see 2 drives pop up when you connect the phone. As well you might want to check your microSD card to see that it is working and properly formatted.
hey hey
first off, the review has been most helpful, many thanks.
secondly, anyone know what cable this thing uses for data transfer/charging?
my brother has given me one, and politely lost the cable. so i need to get one somewhere, but have no clue what it uses.
help?
Just recvd my sci phone – it takes some getting used to, but i can not figure out how to get a different ring tone. I haven’t had any other problem and this is great for the money. If someone can let me know how to set up a new ringtone I would be indebted!!! thanks
Settings>User Profiles>General>Customize
If you want to use an MP3 as a ringtone first you need to go to the music player, then bring up the list, options, then add to rings. Then you will be able to select that MP3 as a ringtone.
i bought a i9++ and the headphone sucks!! and i had to buy a headphone converter and still the quality of the sound is really bad!!..it is like the volume is down!!..Does anyone have the solution?? please let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re right. Sadly there’s not much you can do about it. The headset packaged with the phone is poor quality and there is a lot of white noise that you have to put up with. Maybe you should look into a bluetooth headset.
very informative blog! great!
thanksss
i bought a i9+++ and when try to make call ican’t beacuse it’s emergency call only how i can fix this problem?
Make sure you have the correct SIM active.
im looking to buy the i9++. can u still add music to it if you dont have a SIM card in the phone? will it still allow you to turn on the phone and use the mp3 player part of the phone?
I believe so, however, why buy the phone if you aren’t planning on using it as a phone? I’m sure you can find a reasonably priced touchscreen mp3 player that isn’t a knock off. As long as you have a microSD card installed you should be able to upload music and use the player.
There is no gsensor switch wallpaper on my sciphone I9+ , Is there anyother way to stop the wallpaper being automatically changed.
Not that I’m aware of.
I have a sciphone i9++ which was working well , all of a sudden the other person was hearng lots of noise & not able to hear me properly . Can anyone help me out??
I cannot move with any app installation in java. The navigation flow says “You have to set up an account… Do you want to set it right now?” but it does not gives me an OK or YES option to click. So I click on the round button and it puts me out of the app I was on into the main menu. Please help!!
Not all java apps are compatible with the i9++. I notice a lot of games do not show up on the phone in the correct resolution. Hence a lot of functions are displayed off screen and unusable. How did you install the java app? Usually I copy the .JAR file over to my memory card then install via the java function on the phone.
Hi I’m planning to buy the i9+++, my doubt is..Are both sims active simultaneously? or do I have to switch from one sim to another???
You can only have one sim active at any time.
my phone model is i9++ and I don’t know if it’s different with i9+++. But regarding with the sim cards, both sims can be activated with my phone. But sometimes, text messages would be delayed..
I’ve been using an I9+++ with dual sim activated for more than a week.
Just try to check on ’set-up’ then ‘network set-up’.
My problme is how to activate the gprs so i can use the internet and also how to download games.
montion sensor of i9+++
two day back i bought i9+++ from ebay.in
acutally my photos are not moving with changing direction of phone..other wise music, wall paper are chaning..also i m not able to find firmware and version of phone.. *#0000# and *#8375# both were not working..
Thanks for your feed back, very helpful.
Q: which is better? 3 or 5 pages?
hi I hope You can help me how to you turn up the volume on the phone. when I get calls I can not hear the them. The ear volume is really low and I have to have the callers to repeat themselves constantly. Please help A.S.A.P
Thank You
Hi,
ive recently bought my fake iphone in shanghai (in the big fake market), for 600 RMB( was it abit to expensive??). I checked the internet to see what kind of fake phone ive bought, but because theres no brand label or webbsite refered on the box, its hard 2 tell what ive just bought.
Then i got across this blog, and i saw the tiny picture with the “golden battery” and the label “phone” & “16gb” (the phone only have like 250kb memory).witch is exactly what i got.
The thing is, my phone dosnt have a pen included and it dosnt have a hole or anything that would indicate that is should be included. Does it mean its not a i9++? but a fake of a fake..
anyways , overall it didnt cost me that much, so im still happy with it. I can call ppl, recive calls, and it plays mp3.
(PS sry for my bad spelling, english isnt my native language)
hey im from australia and was really intersted in buying this phone, ive been on alot of forums’ saying there really good, and some saying – this phone is crap.
should i bother purchases one?
plus i was considering buying one from ebay from china, and i want to ask why does the sciphone recuire 2 sim cards?
if this phone is bought as unlocked.. will my sim card fit into the slot?
PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP.
THANKS CHANEL
If you can afford a real iPhone, get the real thing. If you want something that looks like an iPhone then this is the cheaper cousin. Also it does not require 2 sim cards, it has slots for 2 sim cards in case you go over seas you just pop in a local sim card and your phone will work. Your sim card should work fine.
Mp3s play fine, videos require down conversion, only a handful of true touchscreen java games work on this phone. If you do decide to buy one, make sure it’s a legit SciPhone i9++, the fake versions of this phone are the ones that are really crap. Don’t spend more than $100US on this phone listed on eBay.
Hi, i have a SCIphone, model i9+++. I would really like to install java applications into my phone but i’m not sure of where to find the applications and how to put the applications into my phone. I’ve tried this website, http://www.java.com, but failed. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you.
I just copy the .JAR file to my memory card, then use the java app on the phone to install applications. Only a few java apps will work properly on the phone.
Yes you can use 2 sim cards at the same time. I am using 2 simcards 1 is where the country i am into and the other is for roaming where i came from. Both is functioning very well
Will this phone work with my 3G sim card for ATT?
It will work but you won’t get 3G coverage or speeds.
will i get the internet services if i have a att card and is texting? i just bought one off of ebay infact i will get it in like a week but now that i am reading up on it i have mixed emotions. is it really that hard to function
my sciphone i9+++ is working fine. but i keeps giving an annoying clicking sound every few minutes. can anyone help???
I have exactly the same problem, ive even put it on silent but it still keeps clicking, can anyone help please?? its getting really annyoing! Thanks x
Hello. Recently I purchased this phone. Surprisingly, I won’t be asking how to turn the vibration off like everyone else. My question has to do with putting it on silent mode. It still vibrates which i have no problem with but whenever the locked screen comes up it still makes that shutter sound whether its on silent or not. Sometimes it does it a couple times. Is there any way to turn this off? I’d hate to think I can’t take my phone anywhere because it won’t be quiet.
Thanks so much for your time!
“shutter sound” hmm, that’s a new one. I don’t think I’ve run into that problem. I don’t have a solution for you unfortunately. How about getting it to make the “shutter sound” while using the volume button on the side? Does anyone else have suggestions?
Just bought the i9+++ in a dodgy SE Asian country for about 65USD! Have managed to suss most of it out apart from as some people have already mentioned:
1) Cannot turn off shutter sound when locked. And it seems to keep making the sound every 2 minutes and is random when it will stop.
2) SMS – do messages received have a 2 message SMS limit – ie 320 characters? Probably the reason why am only getting half of what people are messaging me. In the menu next to the sms it says 2/2 so I assume this means what I describe here. Which is shit if it can only take 320 characters but cant complain for a fake phone i guess.
Umm there were some other things but i have forgotten! Would be so grateful if someone has an answer to the SMS limit thing.
Oh yeah the other thing was how do i get a phone book listing of my contacts without having to search for them? When I go into Name – then the phonebook opens and the menu opens shows quick search, search contact, add new contact etc etc. How can I get to display that will just list my contacts alphabetically? Like on every other phone in existence since the dawn of the cell phone? Hope I am not being stupid here and missed something obvious in the settings!
Quick search should display all your contacts, you can also try DIAL>CONTACTS (lower left) to bring up contact list.
hi. i got mine for my birthday today, and i am trying to work out how to install java? many thanks, emily
Install java? or install a java app? You should have a big JAVA button on your first page. To install java apps (not all will function properly) copy the .JAR file to your memory card and then use the JAVA button, and select the file you would like to install.
hi.. i have been wanting to use java games on my i9++ .i found “dazhihui java.jar” on my memory card (it came with the phone). I am pretty sure it is what i need, but it is in chinese/japenese (i cant tell the difference). Any tips? i have trid to work my way through it, but that didnt work… i also researched it but nothing came up..
thanks
i have tried i think everything my only problem with my phone is getting the music i saved to my sim card to open up on the phone?????? any idea what to do or what im doing wrong…??
music files should go into the MP3 folder on the memory card (not sim). If that doesn’t work you can try using the Documents app to browse your memory card, you should be able to open any music files that way, assuming they are in the correct format.
i buy sciphone i9+++ its work perfectly . how to connect to pc.
i acces my memory card from pc but when i try to connect to comm port it nothing work for me.pls help me
Try connecting the phone when it is ON/OFF. If that doesn’t work, buy an SD adapter and access the memory card with a card reader.
hey, i am iterested in this phone, but i have got a few questions:
does the touch screen works just as smooth as by a normal iphone?
and does it have the normal 3.5mm round earphone plugs?
thanks
No and no.
what do i have to do to subscribe to the GPRS
Simply fill out the Internet options for your service provider. I.E. wap, user, password, dns, etc.
when it says test sim when looking to set up GPRS. what do i do
HI! I´m From The Dominican Republic and I just got one Sciphone I9+++ and It works great with my provider company (Orange). I´ts a very good phone!!! i buyed it in Ebay for only US $ 73.00!! I´m very happy with my phone.. only thing that i dont like is the clicking noise that it makes when you block it, sometimes it stops.. but sometimes it keeps making it like 5 minutes… but that is nothing compared with the happiness of having an iphone clone THAT GOOD! (Would somebody please help me to shut up the noise?)
I’m not familiar with the clicking noise you’re referring to. Maybe try this? Settings>UserProfile>General(or what ever you are using)>Customize>ToneSetup>Keypadtone>Silent
$73(US) that’s a good price, hopefully shipping wasn’t too expensive.
I’m facing the same problem; I’ve tried already what you’re referring to without success; also, I’ve disabled the auto keypad lock feature (settings > Security Setup > Auto keypad lock None) and finally tried to eliminate the noise disabling all the extra tone (UserProfile>[Profile in use]>Customize> Extra tone — uncheck all the boxes). The phone still makes this annoying “click” …
I’ve heard that a problem could exist with some phones (depending on the software build) related with the usage of the second SIM card, but I could not undertsand if this is a “software bug” or an hardware defect.
Any inforamtion and/or suggestion wuold be appreciated.
hi,
i recently got a sciphone and its going good, except for one thing…when someone is calling me the phone only rings twice then answers itself!!? is there a way to turn this off? has anyone else had this problem?
i have just bought i9++i model .it costs me around 55$ only…..
i love this……..
it is a good clone of iphone than all others………….
$55?? Wow, nice deal!
I had purchased this phone recently and I would like to know the GPRS settings for this phone. Any one know please send the details.
What’s your service provider?
Hi recently i bought a i9++i phone from ebay but i am facing some problem. Whenever i am loading some video it’s saying video not responding.I have tried to convert avi files to mp4 that also didn’t work. My laptop is also not recognizing the usb port. Whenever i am trying to do a transfer through bluetooth it’s saying memory full even though i have ample amount of free space in my 2 GB card. Please help
You need to convert video files to 3GP. As well it sounds like you are transferring files to you phone memory and not the microSD card. Try connecting the phone when it’s off/on and see if that makes a difference with your USB port.

Hi just wondering how can you tell if its a real sciphone when you buy on ebay??
this one shows the serial #’s and says its manufactured by sciphone

I won an auction for this little fake phone from ebay for $73 (free shipping). The seller’s reputation is good, so I hope I will get a original clone, but I’m still afraid Sciphone is crap.
So I have a question for you guys. How long have you been using this Sciphone? Would it last at least a year? I don’t want to buy a phone that break 2 weeks later.
Looking to purchase the sciphone specifically for the dual sim feature which is the most important one for me…before I purchase, does anyone recommend a specific ebay seller for this product? I appreciate the help!!
Hi, I just purchased a i9+++ and I was just wondering if you knew the internet and MMS settings for the phone for Rogers. I’m assuming you might know as you are in Canada as well. I still haven’t recieved my phone, but I am just trying to get everything figured out before it arrives.

Hello. I have Sciphone i9 + + + for several days and still study it. I have problems – when an incoming call the phone accepts the call himself a few seconds. Is there a way to avoid this by some setting
hi..i have this sciphone i9 but i can’t play my video files.it keeps saying invalid video file.i wonder what happen?is this phone really can read mp4 files?
Video files need to be down converted to 176*144 and audio quality lowered if possible to avoid audio/video sync issues. Straight converting to an .MP4 format or iPod compatible file will not work.
hi i bought one of these fones and i love it but was just wondering wat iphone cases would fit it because they are different sizes
oow i see, thanks for the info once again.but would you mind tell me wot kind of video files that can be read by this i9. i tried 3gp and avi,but the same result happen, so i keep wondering….

I was wondering if the icons can be changed in the quick menu?
I have an icon of dial, text, calls & sms.
I would like one there of bluetooth or video recorder.

Have just purchased a (fake???) i9+++ from ebay. Will switch on but refuses to recognise sim card (Vodafone)> Any ideas???
Cals
Try the sim in the other slot or try to get a new sim from your service provider. If that doesn’t work then you’re out of luck.
hi just picked one up a i9+++ doesnt show caller id when some one is calling like all my other phones do can you help thanks.
Sometimes the calling number isn’t associated to the same number in your phonebook without a “1″ in front. Could explain why it doesn’t show up.
Please Please….DON’T buy this phone, even if you got money to waste, save yourself some time and pain, there is no compensation for pain and suffering in this case, i gave mine phone away for free after 1month.
I guess you didn’t have a positive experience? That’s too bad. It all comes down to what you expect from this phone. It is a cheap clone for a reason. I’ve had mine for a while now and it does the job. Only complaints so far is the lack of true java support, the crappy camera, and the dust that keeps getting underneath the glass. I am looking forward to getting my hands on the Motorola Droid and Cliq.
hi jtsmyth8, my phone is i9++ and i really want to have a large keyboard or the landscape one. I’m already a member to the forum you shared and I don’t know where to find it from their.. can you help me??
you have to get a firmware update, it’s unofficial from what I understand. Honestly I don’t think it’s worth paying for, just use the stylus with the existing keyboard. Definitely not the ideal solution but if you’re a serious IM/texter/messaging person, this is NOT the phone for you.
i just bought the new 9+++ cell phone and i was wondering how to put games into it .
can someone help with the military time?
Will this phone work with my non data plan from Ntelos??? Does it only work with SOME server companies?
You do not need a data plan with this phone. It is a GSM 850/900/1800/1900 quad band phone.
how do you put the phone on silent?
hi,
i just got my phone yesterday and i was just wondering how do i put songs onto it. because when i put it into the computer it just comes up with things to open with so i just open it in folders then it has music so i try and copy the songs into that but it doesn’t actually let me it says i need more memory.
does this mean it will work once i have a large micro sb?
Hi, I am not able to connect the phone to the PC through the USB cable..whenever i connect the cable, the phone starts charging…but no drives pop up on my system..neither the phone memory nor the memory card is read in the PC..what are the possible solutions.. i am using i9+++….
I am not able to tranfer data from my PC simply beacuse the I cant access the phone/memory card!.
Please help..thanks a lot.
—from INDIA, bought it in 2800 rs that is 55$!!
hello bro..
i am from India and there are a million fakes out here in the markets.. recently found one on the Indian ebay site and stumbled upon your blog later.. Is this the original “SCI_PHONE” that you are refering to.. should I go ahead and make the purchase.. It retails for about 76USD here.. and the seller offerts lifetime service warranty, as in if the phone goes down, he’ll repair it for me (free of labour charges).. Is that a good deal, coz’ I dont wanna waste a months pocket money!!
this is the link to the ebay point:

You just have to set up the internet on the phone, MMS/SMS, for ATT. Don’t expect to plug in your sim and magically have internet access. You will have search around to find the wireless settings for ATT.
I don’t have any suggestions for you. Maybe try one of those rangeboosters that you stick on the back of your phone? I haven’t had any problems with reception here in the GTA. I’m usually at 4 or 5 bars all the time.
Sounds like you have a fake one.
jtsmyth8 .. Which fone do u have?? And wat is ur phone memory..
Mine shows 172 kb… Everythin works awesome.. I even have the gravity/shake feature on my fone for MP3 etc… Does ur fone have tat 2.. the real i fone is xpensive is india.. its 36 k.. (around 700$)… crazy price !
When I bought it, it was called the Sciphone i9++. The basic phone memory is quite small however you can put a microSD card in it to add 2GB of memory storage. 2GB is the max from what I’ve found, but newer firmware versions may allow for larger storage. Yes, mine does have the “shake” feature.
the i9++ vs the i9+++ is just a difference of software version I believe. Could be the same, all I know is what my phone was called by the person who I bought it from off of eBay. The delay of text messages sounds normal when you have dual sims active. I’ve never actually tried 2 sims at once.
